These shorts are made of lightweight, thin and perforated material. After cutting out the mesh lining, it feels like I'm wearing nothing but a belt. They are somewhat open, especially when moving and rocking things. Very handy on a 6 mile hike in hot weather. Average size fits a 33 inch waist well. The product looks good and the waist fits well (elastic + drawstring is what you need). The belt sits right at my natural waist and is comfortable. The lining supports everything in the front without pinching or chafing. The back is a different story. There's just no room for buttocks. I bought two pairs of these shorts and they are very good value for money. There are no issues with lining chafing, the material is very light but feels durable. There is a pocket on the inside, big enough to hold most car keys. I really wish they had a back pocket to put some kind of gel in. As others have pointed out, if you bend down or sit in front of someone in these shorts, they'll be putting on a free show, so make sure you're aware of that if you don't plan on filing restraining orders.

I have the gray and neon yellow color, the gray pair has a black mesh lining and the neon yellow has a thin white/transparent mesh lining. These shorts look like they should be ok but the crotch area curls up so at the advertised 3" length they are almost nonexistent. Clumping can also cause chafing.
