Works great with filters

I added this to my truck with a bucket, great fit and finish, I can hear the turbine howling a little, the temperature of the incoming air is much lower than the engine bay, I hope that helps someone is there.

2003-2007 Cold Air Intake Cans 42145

Cans have spent years researching the airflow and efficiency of Cummins common rail engines. The kit was easy to install, designed for easy installation - excellent. More expensive than other products but I am more than satisfied. Got 0.5mpg, less tailpipe smoke with my Smarty Jr.

This air box is great. The fit is perfect and the instructions are perfect too. The turbo sound is now clearly audible. At first I was afraid before ordering that the sound might be too quiet, but it sounds great! I am very happy with it. Also, S&B has a very similar trick that is cheaper. Something else I would definitely consider.

My truck is programmed with just the air intake added and I get 23mpg while doing 80 on the freeway and back

It costs money. My truck is programmed with just this intake added and I get 23mpg while driving about 80 on freeways and back roads get about 28mpg mostly because of the programmer but before that I had an air raid and it makes the air raid look like crap, if you compare it to driving behavior. Much more throttle response and faster turning of the turbo.

Quality item easy to install

I have a 2005 Ram 5.9 Cummins 48RE with automatic. I found it easy to install and seems to let in more air. I haven't noticed any louder noise from the turbo, if so then the difference is very small. The only problem I had and maybe I missed the instructions? I couldn't connect the rubber and tube to the turbine inlet in one piece (not enough clearance), I had to install the rubber and clamp to the turbine inlet first, and then insert the plastic tube and clamp there.

I have an 06' Ram 2500 5.9L 6SPD, with Smarty Touch (set to 5w/t), modified stock airbox, muffler removal, Valair coupler, keg lift pump. (Joke meter = 24-28 mpg) Before I installed this intake system I blew smoke everywhere. It was chilly for a while, then I realized it was just wasted fuel. There's a lot less black smoke after installation, also it now has a good turbo whistle at around 1200rpm. , but they wouldn't send the scoop to HI. I think he breathes better this way, with a hole in it…
