My Trek bike has an older rack that is not MIK compatible. All Trek luggage racks now come standard with a MIK mount. According to Trek, I couldn't replace the rack without permanently removing the rear fender, which I didn't want to do. MIK carrier plate works great and serves the purpose. My wife wanted a basket for her bike to carry our little puppy 🐶 and she needed something to secure the basket.
