High quality tool set. Comes a sharp shave out of the box. I ordered them to practice my wood carving skills and in less than two days I was able to carve a kuksa. I highly recommend these tools.

Good basic working set - knife is sharp enough but needs time to potter. The notch is good but has a chip/dent and needs to be handled with care. The hook knife is perfect. Update: It was only after reading my review of a dented notch in a very good set that customer service sent me a replacement - unbeknownst to me. Their support team definitely takes care of them, which is why I added a star back.

I was very disappointed with this product and returned it immediately. On the second day of carving, my fiance noticed a small chip in the planing tool. I was upset but figured I'd get over it and keep using it. A few minutes later I discovered that a larger chip had come out of the tool and was lodged in the wood I had cut. First off, let me say that I have a few Beavercraft knives and a few others from "more expensive" brands. At this price you can't beat the quality you get. I've only had great results with their products. Sturdy construction, easy to sharpen and holds a decent edge. I had a small issue with the included spoon/bowl cutout. I used this amazing set of knives (planer, hook and chisel) to carve my first spoon. It's tough, of course, but I like it.
