Worth buying! in Crafting

Like all Beavercraft tools and knives, it's worth the money. I have ordered several different knives, notches and knife sets and have never been disappointed! Amazing customer service direct from Beavercraft!

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Some bugs

Comfortable to hold and easy to use

This V-size BeaverCraft tool is available in European or medium sizes. It fits and is easy to use. After touching up the edge, which I do with all new tools, it cuts well along the line. So far it has held its sharpness and has not required further sharpening since the first touch up. This is a good tool that I enjoy using.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging

Pretty good with care

V Chisel is made of good steel, sharpened and ready to use. The handle is well made, with flat sides to prevent rolling and finished with linseed oil. However, the cutting edge is not perfectly straight and symmetrical (a segment is deeper, as can be seen in the photo). Also the V shape is too round at the bottom and looks more like a U shape. The brass ring has a sharp edge and needs to be filed to make the job more comfortable. All in all a handy tool at a reasonable price.

Pros
  • Wood Carving Tools
Cons
  • No Power

Very comfortable grip, the blade is not as sharp as other products.

Let me first say that this is a very good little instrument. Good size, shape and weight pen. It is easy to use and good for detail work. However, it wasn't as sharp as my last Beavercraft purchase. Don't get me wrong, it was cut out of the box but needed some tweaking. As with many Beavercraft products, the finishing oil they use has a strong odor from the packaging, but this dissipates after a day or two.

Pros
  • Crafts and Sewing
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

You can probably do better for $17

This is the second beaver maker tool I have, the first was a full size chisel. They're good for softwood, but if you're going to do something with hardwood, forget it. Bowl notch was razor sharp out of the box, fit and finish was great but often chipped with use. The handle looks like it was dipped in linseed oil before being finished sculpting, so there are areas that aren't finished at all. The notch on the handle is curved, the tip is unevenly ground, and besides, it's not even a V but aโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Woodcrafts
Cons
  • Skimpy Instructions
