Solid Transmission Filter Product

Works the same as the OEM filter. I even cut it with an OEM angle grinder, nothing special, looks like the inside of an engine oil filter. This appears to be a quality part and is fairly easy to install on a 2004 Odyssey minivan.

Pros
  • Builds Confidence
Cons
  • Nothing

The filter fitted perfectly and was a direct replacement for shot.

I changed this filter on my 2003 Pilot Honda and I can tell you it was a real job. The filter fitted perfectly and was a direct replacement for a fraction of the retailer's cost, but it was actually a ridiculous replacement.

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • Crumpled

Looks like the original

Buy this for a 2003 Odyssey. The product appears to work as it should and has been running for about 2 months / 3000 miles with no problems. There was an o-ring on the line to the filter and since I didn't have one I just lubricated the o-ring with a light coating of Ultra Black RTV and there was no leakage. The only thing I had to remove to gain access was the air filter box and the flexible hose that went to the throttle body.

Pros
  • All right!

. After watching 2 good videos on how to install this part on an '03 Honda Odyssey it took over 4 hours to install. Here is my experience: 1. no need to remove the battery box2. Remove the plastic cover of the motor - 4 screws3. Remove the black air inlet hose 4. Remove the battery 5. Unplug the 2 wire retainers (not the wire connector) from the bracket attached to the top left corner of the battery compartment when looking at the compartment6. Disconnect the large gray cable connector (just…

Although Honda does not recommend a replacement interval for this

part fits perfectly no leaks. After installation, the circuit became clearer. On the Honda Odyssey, it's in a weird spot on top of the gearbox, under the battery compartment. Removal and installation can be a bear without the right tools. There is a video on youtube. I had over 200,000 on my Honda Odyssey with the stock filter. Although Honda doesn't recommend a drain interval for this, I'm glad I replaced the filter. I recommend changing at over 150,000 km as I've found that my transmission…

Mixed feelings, I was uncomfortable with the fit

As another reviewer said, the product is untagged but comes in a Beck Arnley box. Knowing from previous experience that the Beck Arnley is generally a quality aftermarket replacement, I ordered it in place of the original OEM unit. I gave that three stars, not higher, because: 1) Upon installation, I noticed that compared to the OEM block, there was not the same engagement with the o-ring in the fitting that after you go into the end of the filter slides screw in filter. I found it weird and…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
