Internal valve parts missing

This PCV valve I received was missing an internal locking mechanism. It was essentially just the outer tube of the PCV valve (see photo). I will be returning this valve.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for elderly

It fits and works well

This Subaru range uses two different PVC designs. Therefore, be sure to visually check what is already installed on your car. This one fits my 2002 Forester 2.5L SOHC. To be honest, I rarely see PCV valves just fail. This has been replaced with other tuning parts and the "What the Heck" factor.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

I installed this in my Impreza 02 station wagon and it hissed and whistled like crazy. Reinstalled the original, cleaned up a bit and it worked. Tried the thing again and it hissed and hissed again. It's either not the right part (although Revane said so) or it's defective. waste of time.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Really needed replacing

Watching some YouTube videos about tuning a Subaru Forester ('01) I noticed that they were talking about replacing this valve. I was so easy I got it done in about 3 minutes. The old valve was so clogged with soot (probably hadn't been changed for about 100,000km)! The price was great - way less than parts stores. Now I know what I need to change much more often. 236,000 miles and still like a champ!

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Nothing

Your PCV master valve only.

I have decided to replace the PCV valve on a used Subaru that I recently purchased. Not knowing the history of the car, and since it had over 100,000 miles on it, I figured I'd just do the typical customization items. Because the price is so low ($7), it's an item I only replace on my cars every 50,000 miles or so. The Subaru crashed at idle and was pretty rough, and now it runs much smoother. The project called for a 19mm socket and ratchet. It took a maximum of 5 minutes. I was surprised howโ€ฆ

Pros
  • beautiful item
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Perfect fit, high quality!

Replace my old leaky PCV valve with a 2001 Subaru Forester EJ25 SOHC because the old valve was cracked (air could flow both ways). BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING HOSE TO HOUSING. THEY WILL BE VERY SPROD AND BREAK IN HEAT WHEN YOU REMOVE THE HOSE FROM THE PCV VALVE. Attached to this entire PCV system are 3 vacuum hoses coming out of the crankcase. I highly recommend that you have a new lower hose on hand and just replace it when you change the PCV valve as it will be old, brittle and likelyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
