I bought two or maybe three of these things. I loved this product until each eventually broke in the middle and there seemed to be no way to glue or fix it. I used one of these for at least a year and a half before it fell apart too. I don't post pictures because they would be superfluous. Basically ready to use. One of the "tabs" that expand to secure the holder in the cup holder fell off when I first lifted the holder. I tried putting it in a cup holder to see how it would look and the other two tabs fell out too! This is one of the 'cleanest' cup holder mounts - I hate the ones that look like they're made out of a kit or have a silly flexible plastic grip that looks like a catwalk mic. But why release a product that breaks the first time you use it!?!?!?!?!?!?!

The angled shape of the base poses a problem: the cup holder holes in cars are not angled! They are just cylindrical! I had to wrap strips of that mesh material used to open cans, with more strips at the bottom than at the top to compensate for the silly taper of the base. It stays in place, but only because I used this mesh pad to ensure it fits properly in the car's cup holder. I like spring loaded phone grips. This is an overview of the cup holder. i love this shop He has a few reservations. I made sure it stays in place where it doesn't move when I plug and unplug the phone, but this can be difficult/irritating at first. Also, I live in Houston where the summer heat causes adhesive to ooze out of the back and leaves a sticky trail on the back of my phone case every time I use it. It's a bit short, I had to lift it to the top of the cup holder (there's an inch of air underneath), but the expandable design holds up great and is very solid. He's holding the phone well.
