Well made product for networking products

I've been using this hub for over a week now and it works very well. I am using Intel Core i7 with Vista Premium x64. Installation was easy. I just plugged it in and Windows picked it up. I didn't have to download or install any additional drivers or software. All ports have been tested and are working properly. I end up using 5 out of 7 ports to connect all my input devices (wireless keyboard, wired optical mouse, Saitek X52 flight stick, CH Pro pedals, Logitech headset) and everything works…

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Security

This device has it all!

High tech verification tests aside, my use of this device has been very positive in terms of functionality. The only downside (below) does not affect the functionality of the device. ADVANTAGES: ==========- Allows you to use obviously 7 USB ports where your PC probably doesn't have many built in. These additional ports can be conveniently placed on a tabletop, eliminating the need to reach (or behind) your computer to connect dynamic devices such as cameras and cell phones. Simultaneous support

Pros
  • Pleasing
Cons
  • Obsolete

Full power is best in hubs

I was running out of ports on my PS3 and was looking for a powered hub to expand it. As a geek with a technical background, I read the USB standard. The voltage level is 5V and the maximum specified current is 0.5A. So 2.5W/port. It has 7 ports and I checked the specs of this device and it puts out 17.5W for the hub. The main problem with most hubs is that they are either "vampire" powered and dependent on your computer, or the power they provide is less than specified by the USB standard…

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Not sure

Black Magic is the best of hubs

This little guy is pure magic and does a great job solving a problem I have. I have an HP Pavilion laptop that I use fairly frequently. It has 4 USB ports and I find that very limited considering how many things I plug into my base station. My list of peripherals includes: Logitech nano mouse, iPod, laptop cooling pad, Cannon printer, SimpleTech remote hard drive, and Hauppauge WinTV HVR. That's 6 items for 4 ports, then add a flash drive, which I use fairly regularly, and I switch USB ports…

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Nothing
