Good replacement for old road bike brakes

I tune bikes daily and use them when customers have an old Schwinn road bike or another that needs retuning. Nice and cheap. But they don't come with the acorn nut used on older bikes, and some picky buyers might notice, so stick with your old hardware and get going.

Perfect for an old bike.

This was just what I needed to get my old mountain bike back on the road. They are exactly the same shape as the originals but I think they should be softer because even when new they don't squeak like the originals. It's not difficult to ride, but with regular cycling I'm 100% comfortable and I'm sure I won't have any trouble stopping. I would buy them again without hesitation.

Works great on our old Schwin exercise bike

We have an exercise bike that is at least 30 years old. We think it's superior to today's exercise bikes because it's unobtrusive. It uses rim brakes to create the resistance you train with. These pads allow us to adjust the resistance exactly as we want. We use the bike for about 45 minutes every day. In the month that we've used new pads, we haven't had to adjust the resistance and we don't see any wear on the pads.

Standard old-fashioned brakes. decent value.

These are the pads I remember, at a decent price. They come with standard hex nuts so I replaced them with my old acorn nuts. They fit and work as expected. But there is a downside, these aren't the thickest pads on the rim brake market these days and my old steel wheels have some gross rust spots (I have to sand them down) so these pads shrink quickly. It may not be the fault of the product as such as most people don't use rusty 50 year old wheels. But the previous pads were thicker andโ€ฆ

Very satisfied. good for brake parts

I bought these like most people to replace old original parts from an old bike. They work great! My weather conditions can be harsh, 115F, dust blowing. Only the dust on my old pads acted like a lubricant and made it difficult to stop, plus the effect of red hot steel rims and you have glazed pads. The shape of the pad surface with vertical "mini" pads seems to remove dust. quickly. I'm not sure how they behave in wet weather. Nothing creaks, the rear brakes brake well, and the front ones holdโ€ฆ

Wear Out Immediately

These items wear out in less than 10 miles of riding. I was amazed, as was the bike shop that replaced my brake lines. I replaced them with a $15 set of pads and it was worth it to have something that actually works the way it's supposed to. Lesson learned: Don't skimp on the things that keep you from getting stuck in traffic. Pay a few dollars more. Also, the way they are assembled requires balancing to remove or install the pads since the screw threads are attached to the pads. The ones Iโ€ฆ
