I thought this would be the perfect way to light up my sewing area without a magnet interfering with my computer controlled sewing machine. I used it for less than a month, then it would turn on but wouldn't turn off again unless I slapped it gently on something, and the wiring was exposed (before I started slapping it to turn it off); So, I think, I think it developed a short circuit. Seems very poorly made if it only lasts a month before falling apart. waste $30.

Pros
  • While everyone likes it

Just great! - Lighting and ceiling fans

Because I have poor eyesight, light is very important to me. I put it on my sewing machine and it does a great job of illuminating the area around the needle. It was easy to put on, but somehow they forgot to mention the position of the tongue, so of course I screwed it up. Luckily, I was able to remove and reposition it with no problems. The cable is held in place with clips that you attach to the back of the machine so it doesn't get in the way. I took my typewriter (with lights) to a…

A great product for your workplace

I have used these lamps on all my sewing machines for many years. When I sold my old car and left Bendable Bright Light on it, I needed a new one. One of my old machines has worked perfectly for almost 10 years and was still in perfect condition when I sent it to the new owner. I ordered a new one, it came incredibly fast and the quality is definitely even better than my old one. When I bent my old one to light up a certain spot, the light's position "shifted" from where I wanted it to be. It…

Power cord connection fails in light

I have bought at least three of these units for my wife's sewing machine over the last few years. I have no complaints about the mount or its construction other than two of them having the cable connection fail when entering the round base. My wife leaves it plugged into her car and does not remove it. She moves the chrome gooseneck but never the white base with the switch. Eventually, however, the white wire connection where the current enters the round base will short out. I took one apart…

  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Adds extra light to my sewing machine foot!

It's damn smart and bright. Be careful when you plug it in and make sure you understand how the light comes out of the base or you could get stuck turning it the wrong way around like there is one friend did on her sewing machine. The arm only bends up to a certain limit, so you have to get it where you want it to be first. I placed mine in place, glued it to the left side of the Aria sewing machine, started sewing and found that the machine's vibration shook the light! It also makes the light…

No USB converter!

Updated: I'm reducing my rating from 3 stars to 1 star, the light doesn't come on after one use! I saw a few warnings in the reviews but thought I'd take a chance as the last product I bought when this product was first launched is amazing and has stood the test of time all these years . Something happened to the quality of this product, shame I have to go back to Revain. I bought my first bright light at a quilt fair at least ten years ago and it still works, the only thing I had to change was
