I am new to jewelry making. These are the first tongs/half tongs I've ever owned. But I always use professional hand tools in my work. It's definitely an inexpensive pair of pliers, but for hobbyists it seems to be enough for bending wires. The surface shows numerous filing marks and the jaws open and close with a grinding feel. Look at the pictures.

These half-round tongs represent a very good value and will easily rival anything you can buy in Rio at a much higher price. They are very well made and the handle covers don't slip at all. The nose of these pliers isn't the thinnest I've seen on half-round pliers, but it works for most applications unless you're trying to make very tight loops. I would definitely buy them again, but I don't think I'll have to for long.
