The first one was too slow and opened every few times - this one seems to fit a lot better and lowers the tailgate at the appropriate rate.

I ordered a Dodge Ram 2500 as a gift for my husband, the installation wasn't as easy as I had hoped. He buckled as we closed the bed. Then it broke after 2 weeks of use. Very disappointed.

Trunk release aid was sent in a paper envelope which was blank when first ordered. On my second order the trunk release system arrived and was installed and the next day less than 24 hours later the top clip broke off and was gone. The repair you see holds the top connection to the bed. On closer inspection, the lower connection is now detached from the tailgate.

This tailgate accessory kit had decent instructions and I followed them by counting as they said. The installation went pretty smoothly. However, the tailgate screw did NOT hold. It will continue to partially slide out as shown in the picture. Dressing according to instructions didn't help. This picture is after tightening 3 times as instructed. My son bought a similar part from another manufacturer and it fits snugly in the tailgate. Maybe the steel is too Chinese and weak.

Bolt goes too far denting tailgate. He also pushed the back door so hard to the side that the truck overturned vertically. From the photos in their instructions it appears it wasn't installed by them at all - they show parts in the wrong place etc. For example they show a cable connected to a bolt ABOVE the pneumatic block, not on the same breed. . Well where do I start. I've seen 1 star and 5 star reviews. So I thought maybe the ones comparing have expired or been installed incorrectly. I was half right I would say. Above all. Instructions. Or should I say Foreign Picture Book for Children. The wording is super confusing. inexplicably. You look at the picture to understand what it is talking about.
