Using Greaterthan's Beyond Breeze Dehydrator to dehydrate involves trial and error. Although the temperature and time are set digitally, the temperature never reaches the set temperature. If all four levels are used, temperature differences are to be expected. It looked like a great dehydrator and I think it could be, but on my first try I had several trays with food well dried and other veggies still wet. If you have trays of the same items next to or next to each other and drying them at wildly different speeds, something is wrong. Which I'm thinking, and I'm not an expert on this, but it seems that those with wet veggies may be letting warm air in and preventing the slices from drying properly. If you're expecting a professional dehydrator, you'll probably be disappointed. Considering that for the price and what it is, it works pretty well. There's dual temperature that works side-by-side, a timer so you don't forget to turn it off, and a fairly accurate temperature sensor to keep the temperature consistent. I've wanted a dehydrator for a long time, saw this one and bought it. This is a very attractive device with five large plastic shells that are very easy to clean. The timer and heating functions are easy to use as they are located on the front of the dehydrator. I am pleasantly surprised by this dehydrator. I've always wanted one. I like to dehydrate foods like strawberries, spinach, and carrots for my chinchillas. You can also have dried flowers like roses and marigolds, but I haven't done that yet. It's far better to dehydrate food yourself to ensure the food is organic and fresh with no preservatives. It arrived last night and I immediately cooked beef jerky. I wanted a large square one as I have an old round one that seems to last a lot longer than it used to. I've used flank steak in the past, but have found that very lean ground beef makes excellent jerky. I mixed beef with spices and Prague powder.
