Portable and sturdy enough when set up properly for road and mountain bikes. Easily fits a road bike with a 700mm x 28 tire or a mountain bike with a 29" wheel, both with the bottom tire roller in the largest position. Just adjust the top roller to change bikes. (I marked the position for each to set them up before assembling the bike.) I'm not sure if the frame is wide enough to accommodate a "fat" tire, but it might be. Update: I was sent 2 more stands and reassembled them and encountered the same problem, uneven or deformed bars making the stand wobbly. I spent 4 hours mixing and matching parts from all 4 stands and was able to get 2 stands that are at least acceptable. It really sucks, I had to spend a total of about 6 hours assembling and disassembling these coasters and still couldn't get what I consider value for money.
