Poor Quality Control and Poor Design: Bike Tools and Maintenance

Poor quality control, suboptimal packaging and poor design are the downsides of this stand. Came in a single wall box, no packaging, opened and sealed with red tape. One pivot was missing a C-bolt because it had been hit so hard it had sheared out of the groove. Another thing the reviewers said was that the head would not spin freely. Insufficient clearance when the head is loose and the beautiful metal teeth grind against each other. The leg clamp is also bad. If someone were to use this stand

Cons

It doesn't cost $$, especially the "heavy " model.

The thing is so easy to tip over. While the bike is standing on it, it is only good stable, but when you put the bike on or especially when you take the bike off, it easily flies back. The plastic on the clip also feels cheap and can break with reasonable pressure. And I have the heavy 110 lb model. I am a bicycle mechanic. And I will build over 50 bikes a day.****REDACTED****This stand comes with a small tool tray. It's very flimsy and you can't fully tighten the two screws that attach it to…

Repeated factory marriage or anomaly?

I really like this stand. This is a high performance model. The accuracy of fit and ease of movement of all parts are really good, as are the looks and workmanship. For only $200 this is a quality stand that holds my bike great. Then I noticed something. The hand holding the bike points at least 10⁰ from the center of the corner of the two extensions. You can easily see this in my photos if you look at the legs versus the tool tray and arm. The reason for this is that there are notches in the…

Now it's a real bike workshop!

I previously bought a different brand bike repair stand (probably heavy type) and it broke on the first day and my bike has an aluminum frame so it's not very heavy. This one came out and is very different from the first, the frame is very thick lightweight aluminum but don't let that fool you the thing is solid. I'm in the process of converting a mountain bike to an e-bike and I need something very strong that can hold some weight because although my bike is very light to begin with, it won't…

Sturdy stand for cleaning and simple home repairs

I live in a small apartment, so I need a stand that takes up little storage space, is easy to assemble and use. There are two types of standalone bike stands: a tripod stand and a Y-shaped stand (this one). In terms of stability I think they are more or less the same. I chose the Y-shaped stand as it takes up less space to work. Before purchasing, I compared popular stands from other manufacturers such as Park Tool and Feedback. I chose the bike stand based on the following factors: 1) good…

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Slightly torn

More than one defect

Despite rave reviews, this product, or at least the unit I received, does not work as advertised. First, when loosened, the swivel clamp just doesn't loosen enough to allow the head to rotate. I kept trying to see if I could move the clamp further. Even watched the video with no help. After a few hours everything has loosened up a bit so I can turn my head but I can't brush my teeth - they always get in the way. Second, the quick release (which is very similar to a QR hub) doesn't work properly

Trek XL heavyweights happily hold up: Super Commuter +8S, Rail 5, Rail 9.9

Bikehand 110 lb HD Stand holds Rail 5 and 9.9 and Super Commuter high enough off the ground without stability issues. Most often, hold the seatpost with a rag wrapped around the post and finger-tighten the clamps. Take your time and find the best balance for your bike, or open it up for a pre-ride setup and check, I haven't had any issues either way. Be careful when unpacking - mine had a sharp steel needle burr. sticking out of the top tube with a plastic wheel. Easy to clean with metal snips,
