Great quality and looks great on my van

Bought to replace the stock stabilizer bar on my 2003 Gulf Stream class van. This Bilstein steering damper is of premium quality and looks great. An excellent choice if you want to update the original model. Took about 25 minutes to install (I'm not a mechanic) and comes with great instructions. Very satisfied

Huge difference to stock!

I bought this to replace the steering stabilizer on my 2003 Ford E450 class motorhome. Couldn't be easier to install and makes a world of difference. The old stabilizer was completely shot down. I used to have the feeling that I was about to be blown off the road when overtaking a semi-trailer or cross-country. With this new stabilizer it is very stable and easy to control! This product is highly recommended!

Good choice Best in Steering Shock Absorbers & Stabilizers

I bought this damper to replace the original damper on my Ford E450 Minnie Winnie 26A and it took 15 minutes to install after the old one removed came, instructions included Adjust the wheels to the left and that made a huge difference when I rode it on a windy day. I originally ordered a $250 Roadmaster shock but ran out of stock. This Bilstien damper did the job for half the price and was a lot easier to install.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Highly recommended!

After replacing the stock shock absorbers with Bilstein 5100 series shock absorbers which was a huge improvement, I decided to replace the steering damper. What difference does it make to our Thor Four Winds Chateau 23A Class C E350. It went from white knuckles, two hands on the wheel, to the comfortable feel of an SUV with one hand. Even in strong winds, the camper was much more manageable and required far fewer steering corrections. Highly recommended!

Steering Improvement

I bought a 2000 2000 e450 27ft Class C Motorhome. The previous owner just replaced the steering damper with a new OEM one. I tried and still took Bilstein and it definitely helped. No wonder, but definitely an improvement. Don't worry about the review mentioning drag left after install. Just make sure you follow the installation instructions and I think if I remember correctly the mounting bolt spacing is 22" when the handlebars are leftmost.

Much better than Monroe shocks

We purchased a complete OEM damper kit from Vantage Optics for our 1998 Ford E150. At that time only the standard Monroe SC2955 shock was available. This damper helped a lot but my husband wanted to try a more powerful Bilstein damper. It took several months for Bilstein to be available to order, but it was worth the wait and expense. The Bilstein shock improved the handling of our old Transporter a little more than the Monroe shock.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • No performance

No more wandering around in the center!

Installed on my 2014 Majestic 23a Motorhome (CruiseAmerica Factory Repair). Ford E-350 V8. It took about 40 minutes. Need a pair of 18-bit sockets and a Harbor Freight torque wrench. The factory stabilizer almost looks like a screen door lol. The Bilstein device is powerful and looks very high quality. Pulled out Camper and it became very stable, eliminating excessive play in the middle, with the steering wheel in a straight position. The instructions included were correct. Real sense of…

Follow the installation instructions.

I have a Ford 2002 Class C, E-450 RV. The tricky part of the installation was removing the original factory steering damper. Installing the new Bilstein steering damper was easy. Before purchasing the Bilstein SD, however, I was concerned by some comments in the reviews that said it "pulls to the left". I found that some DIY buyers may not have read the instructions. It clearly states that the Bilstein steering damper must be installed when the steering wheel is in the leftmost position. I…
