Very pleasant ride best shock absorbers, struts and suspension

Changed to these shock absorbers Procomp MX6. The journey was day and night. Honestly, I could adjust them too tight. I have a 4" lift kit on my 2008 2-door Wrangler. My only complaint is that I couldn't find a longer Jeep shock. This shock was 1" shorter than the fully extended Procomp.

Not for the terrain.

Don't buy them. You get locked into them because you have 4 and 1 will break about every 12-18 months. Gaskets are always a problem. One day it just leaks and within 24 hours the shock absorber is useless. If one damper doesn't work, do you replace all 4 (different brand)? Do you have different shock absorbers front and rear? Or you can just stick with Bilstein and order a replacement. For the 4th shock to go bad I might buy a new Fox or King kit.

Pros
  • Easy to use

  • So-so

Great for my setup.

After installing the softest travel springs I could find, my current shocks were too soft, causing my JKU to pitch and roll. It feels like a pontoon boat. After reading the reviews I decided on these Bilsteins. It launched with perfect range on soft springs, amazing on-road ride and handling with excellent off-road capabilities. Even when driving on bumpy forest roads, my big JKU remains very stable. And with an extra touch, I had to fix my fenders.

These shock absorbers do not correspond to the Bilstein standard.

I repaired a Jeep so the installation took some time. Out of the box they are defective, worse than I replaced. I rode them for a few days, then took them off and put them back on. The difference is incredible. I will try to replace it under warranty. This is my third set of Bilstein shock absorbers. I've always bought directly from Bilstein. I've never had a bad set before. Is the quality of Revain's suppliers the same as other discount car dealerships? I will update this post as the process…

  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Everything OK

Had high hopes - then leaked and failed

I bought these Bilstein reservoir shocks because the last Bilstein shocks ran out of fluid and became virtually useless after only 18,000 miles. The new shocks shown in the photos here also quickly dumped all fluids after completing an alpine loop (about 65 miles) in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado last weekend. It was very difficult to drive on the freeway after losing fluids, and on many occasions I felt incredibly unsafe when the pavement gave way and started bouncing. I never thought…
