Love these shocks - shocks, struts and suspension

I used to have these shocks on a previous motorhome. Now on my new camper. They have significantly improved ride and handling over stock shock absorbers. No more sharp inclines or swings. I definitely feel safer riding with these shock absorbers.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Good shock absorbers

Good shock absorbers. Put them in my 2008 Ford E250 Ext. Charge. No more slipping on the road, solid feel and control. If they were a little softer it would be 5+ stars. But that's just me. Otherwise I would recommend it as a factory replacement.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Low maintenance

Significant improvement on Class B RV

Replacing the stock Ford shock absorbers on my 1999 Coachmen RB19 Class B RV. No more rocking, rails straight. There is practically no "thrust" when overtaking 18 wheels and wind. Raised the chassis by about an inch. Much smoother driving. Worth every penny!

Pros
  • Annual trial period
Cons
  • Some difficulties

It is so good. I drove 400 km last weekend.

So all good. I did 400 miles last weekend and it was way better than the stock. Not too hard but good on big bumps. I would recommend them. I only have the front ones that need to be placed on top of the rear ones. My rear end is very stiff due to airbags, heavy leaf springs and standard shock absorbers. I don't know if it helps. Has anyone put them on the back of an RV? 2000 Ford E-450 28ft

Pros
  • Installation type: Vehicle specific
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Shoddy Manufacturing

The first pair I got from Revain came with lock nuts that couldn't be screwed onto the shaft. The folks at the hardware store shook their heads because they couldn't find English or metric ones to fit these third-party shocks on Revain. I returned them but the replacement Bilsteins sold and shipped by Revain had sloppy welds on the integral nut that keeps the shaft from turning when you tighten the top nut. My open end wrench couldn't hook it in because the weld overlapped some of the nut…

Pros
  • Country of origin: USA
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others

Wow! Big bumps on shocks, struts and suspension

I bought these for my '92 Ford E250 van which I use for reliable business. The van was late for any perimeter strikes. One of the main reasons to buy is that they are made in the USA. But they make a great shock absorber. The transporter almost never runs empty. So I decided to install a Bilstein 33-176857 B6 HD shock absorber. According to the manufacturer, these shock absorbers are designed for mobile homes. I figured that a van would typically carry 1,000 pounds of gear on any given trip and
