As expected best in my review

Works as expected. Came with 2 USB cables for data and power. When plugged directly into a laptop, power cable is not necessary. I think it's only needed if the device doesn't supply any power.No software included, but is downloadable.

Great compact lightscribe drive

Great buy for the money. Super fast and easy to use. Plugged and played with Windows 10. Made a series of lasered CD-R disks and it takes about 25 minutes to do my full designs, which cover the whole disk. But it chugged away, never got hot, and kept on going. Very pleased with this purchase.

Fast and reliable CD/DVD addition to any CD/DVD-less laptop! Great construction and high quality for low price. Requires regular maintenance and cleaning!

Great product for great price

I lost lightscribe capability when I traded in my old PC. I really didn't want to install a new drive into my new PC, so I bought this Pawtec. Easy to use with a USB hook-up (included). Just download the lightscribe software and you're ready to roll in minutes. Highly recommend it to those who want the designed CDs in their collection.

This is the second one I purchased the first on needed to be returned but I tried this one and it works great. Limited read and write speed with USB 2.0!

Just got it today, all well as promised, keep in mind although is lightScribe capable , you must get the driver somewhere else. otherwise if just a fine machine, used it and it did what is supposed to do. Good job.

Not the fastest, but pretty cool nonetheless

A little slow but works as expected. Software for lightscribe is free off the net and the media is roughly the same price as non-lightscribe media.

Good drive to allow light scribe on a MAC

I originally gave this drive a low review, because of the lack of a full version of light scribe software. The manufacture did contact me via email and gave me a link to a free version of the software. I have to say, I am happy they were concerned enough to reply this way. I did load the 3rd part software and can do full light scribe labels now. The LaCie software they told me about was not as good and easy as HP's but it definitely serves it purpose.Manufacture followed up and provided ling to

I wish I could get a refund

When I first got it I wrote a 5 star review. Now, I'm giving it a 1 star. It has stopped working. It won't burn videos to DVD. It locks up at 80% and gives all kinds of error messages. I have used three different software to burn DVDs and it doesn't matter.

Gets the Job Done best in my review

If you examine the specs, the product does meet all its specifications. It is small and light. The Lightscribe function works perfectly. My one complaint is that it takes a lot of force to close the tray. As the unit is so light, you must use two hands. I don't think you could do better for a portable burner for a device without one.

Great external drive!

I choose this external drive because I needed to labeled my cds and dvds and I think it worhts the money. It takes 25 to 30 minutos to complete a disc but is okay I like it because I don't have to buy anymore labels. I do recommend this item!

Works nicely, good looking

I needed a DVD writer that also had LightScribe capabilities, at a decent price. Considering what I paid for it, and the functionality it provided, this was a pretty good investment. The case is a solid aluminum case rather than plastic, which makes it more robust. It started working instantly on my Windows 7 laptop without any issues. My only complaint is the speed of the LightScribe that seems to be slow, but I didn't have any point of reference to compare to.
