🚗 Efficient Front Windshield Wiper Motor: SHOWSEN Fit for 97-02 TJ Wrangler Review

This wiper motor was a direct replacement for my 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ SE. It was easy to install and worked just like an OEM wiper motor. The price was less than half of what I had seen at local auto parts stores. Great product at a great price!

Installation was relatively easy. The wiper blades do not return to the down position when switched off. You'll have to keep fumbling with the switch until it trips, then turn it off. This is a very big inconvenience. I suggest spending a little more money and getting something good. Update I just noticed that the delay feature doesn't work either.

Plug-in replacement; no questions. One thing; The motor does not come with a rubber outer sleeve. You are expected to reuse that on the old motor. As this part is for a car that is at least 15 years old, this cover may or may not be in good condition. I broke one trying to remove it from an old motor. I had to repair a tire fitting kit. If possible, also order a new cover.

Bolt spacing on the Shosen engine is different (narrower) than the 2001 Jeep Wrangler TJ; Also, the threaded motor shaft/bolt requires two, not just one, flat sides, so a second flat side had to be made with a Dremel tool and cut-off wheel and 3 new mounting holes filled in the wiper motor mount. The engine still runs well and quietly after 3 1/2 hours of installation which normally takes 45 minutes.

This wiper motor was very similar to the factory motor which eventually failed. The only difference I noticed was that the electric motor itself felt a bit smaller, so maybe it's weaker and doesn't last as long. But the factory engine has lasted 23 years so I'm not worried yet! I have seen reviews that this motor is not suitable and needs to be completed. Maybe on which models, I don't know. But on mine (a 1999 Jeep TJ Sahara) it plugged right in, plugged in, and worked fine.
