Must have!: Tow and winch products

One of the best hitch locks when used properly and locked properly. The best lock I've found is the Trimax THP2XL with the same key for the trailer door (2 pack). It fits all doors and this lock is very secure and can also be purchased from Revain.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Poorly designed

Looks intimidating - tow and winch items

Protects well from honest people. In fact, if the trailer is parked away from traffic, it will not be difficult to saw through the hairpin with a saw or grinder. At the same time, no bolt cutters could remove it. Maybe a sledgehammer could break it. It will take some effort to break, although it looks intimidating. Slightly sawed off the pin to attach the washer. Any other lock with a visible shackle could easily be removed with bolt cutters. Overall happy with the purchase and definitely looks

Sturdy, good for hauling groceries and winch

I looked at many different lock styles before deciding on this. I chose this as it looked like the best performing product at a reasonable price. Received it and used it straight away while parked the trailer in an open lot for five days when I had to leave it to get off the road. Durable material and good for hitching my landscape trailer. I would recommend tying the lock with security chains. Check out one of the other reviews for photos of how to do this. I could see how the lock could be…

looks like a good price paired with a washer lock with extra accessories

I bought this after my keys were stolen and I had a cheaper lock which although popular was easily picked with a big hammer could become. This one is better in my opinion in terms of security and more than an attitude where honest people stay honest. I added two things to make it more secure. First, I inserted a 3/4" steel tube down the center to reinforce the pin. Second, I added washers on each side. This will remove any gaps that someone might cut with a hacksaw or bolt cutters. Portable…

Strong as a brick! good for trailer hitch accessories

This trailer hitch lock is as strong as a brick! I bought it to replace one of those cute yellow padlocks that are nothing more than decoration. Not only was it very light and seemed very easy to break, it also didn't fit. This one is definitely worth a few bucks more for peace of mind that someone is going to have to work a little harder and longer trying to steal our camper. It's heavy cast aluminum (wish it was solid stainless steel, but it would cost five times as much) with a 3/4" locking…

The best shackle in this price range.

To be honest this is probably your best bet for basic, inexpensive towbar security. However, with a background in law enforcement lock manipulation, MOST commercially available locks are ridiculously easy to pick. Most of them can be opened with simple tools and minimal knowledge. However, with this device you can use any lock of your choice. If you decide to use this type of "shackle" device, make sure the padlock you use is sealed and unbreakable, such as a padlock. B. Really nice concept. Another/new security device we bought for our caravan as we anticipate many would-be thieves probably won't do this I've seen this hitch locking option before widen the hole in the striker a bit to allow the disc lock spigot to fit through A no-brainer with a drill and regular bit I pulled out of my toolbox which isn't that "good" " must be thing. We have a 2 5/8" ball hitch on our Winnebago caravan and overall the fit is pretty loose using the best of the 3 holes…

A secure lock for the new PJ Trailers hitch on the F8 trailer.

PJ Trailers has installed a new hitch on their F8 bumper trailers. This is a clever engineering project, however, but the number of options available to protect against the many thieves patrolling in search of easy theft is limited. This hitch lock works when parked and disconnected from the hitch. A through pin lock or cable lock is required for added security as there is a hole drilled in the heavy PJ casting. I use a master security cable lock when parked and a pass-through pin lock when the
