🔒 Enhance Vehicle Security with Blue Ox BX88177 4-Lock Kit in Striking Orange Review

I recently tuned my pickup for flat towing; This set (using the same key) attaches the Blue Ox hitch to the towed vehicle (dots), the Blue Ox hitch to the receiver and the hitch (which I need so the tow angle isn't too big) to the camper in one set.

Excellent quality as always, hard to believe there are 8 identical keys in the set. Seriously, good clutch locks, good dust covers, the design eliminates fake locks and stops endless fumbling with the barrel trying to hold it and turn the key because you can hold the other end of the lock securely. They are amazing.

AMAZON - UPDATE YOUR PHOTOS. Blue Ox no longer uses brass keys and cylinders, and you can't just snap the end in without a key. They've switched to the Coke Key, which has to be plugged in for installation, and that can be a bit of a hassle, on top of having to carry that big key on a cord.

The design doesn't allow for easy locking and unlocking unless you have three hands, which unfortunately I don't have. Because the interior of the lock is what it is, the pin rotates, making it difficult to unlock or lock without an extra hand. Look for a 90 degree lock so you can easily complete this process with one hand instead of three which I would recommend.

I have a variety of hitches on vehicles and trailers and unfortunately people take things off their hitches these days so I bought these to secure what I put in my hitch. Whether it's my fish basket, winch, the tongue itself, the platform or the hitch extender, with this product I know that whatever I left in my truck or trailer will be there when I get back.

These locks should have the same keys but either they don't have the same keys or the 5/8 inch locks are defective and won't open. When you pay a premium price for such a product, you expect some level of quality control. 1/2" locks work well but I need and bought this set because it includes 2 5/8" locks; and larger locks either don't work or require a different key than the ones supplied, not sure if that's the case. I'm SO disappointed in Blue Ox; They have a reputation for quality products,

Due to my new motorhome I needed a lock kit with two hitch locks as I now have to use an adapter to lower the hitch. Wanted to lock everything up for security reasons. I used to have Blue Ox locks (set of 3) which worked great. My issue with these new ones is that they have replaced the traditional flat key with one of the round cylinder keys. First off, these are NOT Blue Ox locks. They come in Blue Ox packaging but they are Trimax locking pins. We bought a new Blue Ox hitch, cover and these pins for our motorhome to replace a much older hitch that was also a Blue Ox but it was an Aventa instead of an Aventa LX.
