They were actually purchased for use in a math lesson on areas and fractional tessellation. I needed exactly 200 pieces for the lesson, so there were four student groups of 50 pieces each. I was planning to use them to make a game from Germany we call "Donkey". They are a bit small for the whole set of this game that can be played on a gaming table with 3-6 people. But with 2-3 people as a kind of travel game you will play with kids 4-12 years old it works. I bought this set of 1" x 1" unfinished wood tiles for a board game. I need tiles that fit in a 1 inch space on the board. These tiles work great. They're thick enough that I don't have to worry about them breaking with normal use, and with slightly rounded corners, they're not sharp. when I reach into my pocket to select a tile. I originally intended to use an ultra-fine pen to write on the tile, but it soaked into the tile's wood and soiled it. I wouldn't recommend using permanent markers…
