Works exactly as advertised

Works exactly as advertised. Potential downside: I have more than one car that needs towing. It can only be used by one vehicle as a control key. Your car is the key you put in to open the lock. You can use the key on different vehicles if you are towing more than one vehicle.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • No instructions

Not very good lock for hauling groceries and winches

Yes it has a key but I have access to three different GM keys. I programmed it (according to the instructions) with my new truck key. Each of the three keys opens the lock. I checked that the keys didn't open the doors of other cars, they don't open. That's a great idea! But actually it has to be blocked to be useful.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Best idea and function.

Bolt is one of the most innovative companies to offer a one key system. I no longer have to carry around multiple keys to access my stuff. Since I always tow my locked trailer with my truck, so having a key to my truck that also secures my hitch, and connecting it to two padlocks for the ramp, I've made my life a lot easier. It's the simple things that make life so much easier and it's pure genius.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Clarity

does not fit my gmc key

should give this 3 stars. Never had a problem with bolt products until now. For some reason it doesn't match my GM key. However, I had a Chrysler lock and my GM key fitted perfectly. The key isn't new, it's definitely worn out, so I don't understand how the slot for these keys can be so small. maybe someone else noticed the same thing. I think I'll file it down a bit to make it fit, but we'll see. I would just put a Chrysler lock in it just to be safe

Custom key feature works well

Owning an RV means I have a lot of keys and having the same locks really helps keep my bunch of keys smaller. extended journey on wheels. It worked fine but I only had to use the lock twice, once to install and once to uninstall. I lubricated it very well with silicone spray before installing it, hoping to reduce the possibility of corrosion. It worked well and showed no signs of rust despite being exposed to winter weather and salt. I would buy it again.

  • Price
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Unsatisfied User on Tow Bar Accessories

Went fishing. drove to the lake (180 miles one way) and returned. I started leaving the house to put the boat back in the stable and the hitch came out of the receiver leaving my boat and trailer on the road. My guess is that the BOLT was unlocked and the bolt fell off causing the problem. The locking part is nowhere to be found, and the pin part has worked its way out. I was very lucky that it didn't come off at 70 km/h on the road. Could create a very awkward situation for other drivers and…

Looks like a great lock

Bought this lock for my 2014 Silverado 1500. lock out. Connected to the truck key, works great. I took the key from another 2014 Silverado 1500 and tested it with the key and it didn't even go all the way into the lock. So my nervousness about it was quickly gone. Compared to other receiver locks I've had, here's what I see: it's definitely a bit larger, but not negatively. I think that's why some people have problems with pendant chains. Although I don't see that as a problem. It also seems to

  • Can be exchanged

These things are great. I would buy again if necessary.

Yes I admit I fell for the hype and bought BOLT coupler locks because every truck owner who uses GEN Y couplers demonstrates and uses them. I've watched many videos on YouTube of truck owners using them to secure their trailers and tow heavy loads. I bought a cheap hitch lock about a year ago which I used on hitch accessories but I don't trust towing because it feels cheap and useless. and required me to carry an extra key on my keychain. A really good selling and selling point of a BOLT hitch…
