Good thick rope makes climbing easier. I attached it with screw hooks between the ceiling and the wall above the bird cages. They immediately flew in to explore and have happily climbed it ever since.

I didn't want to believe the bad smell reviews but I just got mine yesterday and it smells totally chemical. I put it in the living room and everything around it smelled like something I can't describe. Can't use this for my conure.

It was inaccurate in the description, the rope was supposed to be 34 inches wide but it was actually only 25. Also, it had a chemical smell, not sure if that's normal or not? Sent it back as I ran out of time.

I've wanted to review this for a long time. My two parrots just love it. Also, go for a walk every morning when they come out of the cage during the day.

Smells like gasoline or other potentially harmful chemicals. Don't let your pet near you. I soaked it in vinegar for 24 hours to sanitize and I tossed it in the washing machine without detergent and the smell is still strong. This item currently resides in my laundry room until I find a non-pet use for it.

Smells awful. Doesn't smell like hemp or sisal. Immediately smells of oil or kerosene. Even after 24 hours out of the packaging, it still smells strong. I can smell it all over the house. I never let my kennel near him. Send back. Really weird, my girlfriend bought the exact same thing and she doesn't smell at all. and mine yes? Looks like there's a 50/50 chance of getting a non-stinky one. I will look elsewhere. Shit because I was really excited to add this to my green cheeked blanket.
