Sounds great on my 2013 F-150 5

Sounds great on my 2013 F-150 5.0 with built in resonator. Very aggressive but not annoying, the hum is minimal but you know for sure the silencer is there. A little louder than at freeway speeds, but I got used to it quickly, and it's not intrusive at all. It sounds best at 1500-2500 rpm.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • unreliable

Exhaust sounds perfect

That was exactly the sound I was looking for. I have a 2012 F-150 with a 5.0 V8 and this muffler has such a clean deep rumble. I've watched countless YouTube videos trying to understand the different sounds of the Magnaflow, Flowmaster, and Borla. I chose this one and couldn't be happier. If you're on the fence like me, just buy it.

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • So far so good

A little noisy best in exhausts and parts

I have this for my 5.0 F150. I have to say based on the sound clips and reviews it's louder than I expected. I wanted something quiet until I wanted something loud. It's loud and gets louder the harder you step on the gas. I didn't hear any hum, which is good because I didn't want that in my daily driver either. Overall I'm satisfied, just wish it was a little quieter while I didn't want it to be loud.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Almost unlimited and noisy, but it's good.

Equipped with my 2005 Silverado with 5.3 and headers. Since my tuck is so low, I had to back up before the axle. It's very noisy at certain rpm and really isn't that bad at 75mph on the freeway in accelerated mode. At 35-45 km/h it hums heavily. Although I wouldn't change anything. Love how loud it is now. This setup replaced my Magnaflow side exhaust and is much louder.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Some little things

Wrx Subaru rumble!: Exhausts

Awesome exhaust from a great brand! Love Borla mufflers! Installed on a WRX hatchback and the sound is awesome! It's loud enough to hear the engine purr, but not obnoxious. Very quiet at low revs and shines at around 3.5 km and a deep rumble on cold starts at around 1.5 km/min. No rumble on the freeway and no annoying shrill engine sound. Don't let the small diameter fool you as it can produce a really deep tone.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Good but not great

Too quiet. in exhaust systems

Trust other reviews. This exhaust is very quiet. While it's needed in your recreational or soccer van, it's not what you need in a weekend warrior or drag car. I'm sure it has more power but turns your muscle car into an eco-friendly golf car. Too quiet. For reference, I put her on a '99 Camaro with a 6.0L nitrogen cam engine through long headers and an X-pipe. AWAY. TOO MUCH OF. CALM. I go back to my SLP screamers.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • OK

Poor workmanship is best on exhausts and parts

This was my first Borla purchase and I was immediately disappointed, I bought two mufflers from 40085 and each has a crooked inlet/outlet, see pic. They also left excess welding wire along the seam from one of them. I'm used to buying mufflers for $20-$60 with good finishes and straight entry and exit. Borla's entrance and exit are not round either, but strikingly oval. Long story short, for $140 this craftsmanship sucks, but hopefully they sound good.

Pros
  • Several competitors

Perfect for daily driving!

First Impression: I welded it at the store for $45 and left the resonator in. It's very quiet to me, but it has no hum! It has a nice deep sound when starting and driving. It also barks a bit under acceleration, but not overly aggressively. I think it will get better as it breaks a bit and in the long run. I was just expecting it to be louder, and now that I know what it sounds like, a plain trumpet would be fine. But I'm happy and it sounds very good! This would be great for someone like meโ€ฆ
