Each tripod leg works independently which makes alignment very difficult as you end up having to repeatedly adjust each of them to align them. I bought this tripod to mount a Bosch GLM400CL laser rangefinder. I purchased a Pacific LASER Systems PLS-20351 5/8-11 to 1/4-20 Tripod Thread Adapter to convert a 5/8-11 thread on a tripod to a 1/4-20 thread on the GLM400CL. It worked well.
