Failed.: Power Tool Parts & Accessories

This drill was used to drill some test holes in alder logs in preparation for drilling spindles into handrails. The cover is slightly stained and chipped. I'm not sure if I can sharpen the main steel, so I'm guessing a total loss. I ended up using a hole saw and then a forstner bit.

Pros
  • Twist Drill
Cons
  • Weak

GREAT CHISEL AND GREAT PRICE

I received this drill bit for drilling a few quarter inch holes in a sheet of steel. I couldn't use my drill press due to the size. After drilling a pilot hole and using a dark cutting fluid, this drill exceeded all expectations. This made a perfect 5/8" hole and the bit was still sharp like new. If used properly, this bit should last a long time.

Pros
  • Power and Hand Tools
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled

Not bad, but be careful with hard metals and use lube.

You can use its metal drill. It cuts well, but I used a lot of cutting fluid and worked at a low press speed. Being only a black oxide bat, it may not be as strong as a cobalt bat, but with proper care it will last a long time. I easily made multiple cuts through the thick stainless steel blocks, removed the shavings with an air compressor, and used lube. It still cuts beautifully.

Pros
  • Jobber Drill
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model
