Outstanding best twist drill

I had to drill through a stainless steel sheet, actually the license plate holder on my Ducati. I tried some cheap drill bits I had at home but there were no dice. Bosch cobalt drills went through. I did a little research and learned how to use the drill at a lower speed and it worked like clockwork. These are high quality drill bits that are important when working with very hard materials like stainless steel. This is a great product.

Pros
  • Noble design
Cons
  • Very expensive

Defective item best in jobber drill bits

For a long time I couldn't decide which brand of drill bits to choose until I chose BOSH, they seemed good quality to me, but upon receipt I quickly realized that the little bits were missing a point, they look flat, they slip on the metal when drilling. The big bits don't seem to be centered when I drill into the metal, it's a triangular shape as you can see in the photo. They appear to be of good quality but it seems I touched a faulty batch. I would like other bits in good condition and aโ€ฆ

Not much better than harbor shipping!

I tried to drill a drywall screw, but the 1/4 inch drill didn't go through the screw. I called Bosch and they told me the drywall screws were too hard for these drills. I drilled a few holes in an aluminum rod about 1/4" thick with no problems other than a drywall screw! This was my last Bosch purchase. I admit the rep I spoke to was nice, he let me make that one Stopping work to find out why these bits wouldn't drill through a drywall screw.I was told to use a black onyx bit because of theโ€ฆ

Terrible - Jobber Drill

Worst of all, two of these drills, the largest and the third largest, each used less than 1/2 dozen times, are ripped out. The bases of both in this location are so rounded that they can no longer even be held in a drill. This is a regular Cal Hawk 10" drill bit and I have not used the larger drill bits for drilling anything other than mild steel. by a relatively soft material. And then I find out that Bosch only gives a 30-day guarantee on these ultra-high-quality drills! Now I have to buy aโ€ฆ

I recommend this batch of Hole. Oh, I hate puns too. Excuse me.

I've struggled with DeFawlt and other big shop bit sets for a few years now. I've never had any luck as they don't feel like they cut much, dull quickly or break easily. I didn't want to pay for Drill Hog's work and the price of Drill America's bits fluctuated too much so I settled on about $30 which is pretty comparable to the regular sets I buy from Slome Despot . Cobalt! I love her! They cut like ordinary steel - it's butter. They have non-slip shanks so you can put them straight in withoutโ€ฆ

  • This is great

Drilled 10 holes in 1/2 " steel rod in 45 minutes

Received a 3/8" cobalt drill bit from Bosch yesterday morning and drilled ten holes in 2" 6 foot thick sheet steel. bar for about 45 minutes yesterday afternoon. The beam is used to reinforce the wooden roof beam on a small porch (bolted to the side of the wooden beam). I spent most of my time changing the rod's position for each subsequent hole, and the actual drilling time for each hole was about a minute. I used a small Rockwell drill that I bought from Revain last spring and now sells forโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Obsolete model

My Ironman Ellipse driveshaft bolt broke in the flywheel bracket. The bolt was screwed onto the shaft and would not come out. I can't find a replacement shaft, so my only option was to drill out the center of the broken bolt and use a puller to pull it out. I set the drill to the lowest speed and used cutting fluid. I bought a set of cobalt tips from Milwaukee (Home Depot) that barely scratch the surface. Found they weren't even sharp out of the box! Used a sharpener and cutting oil to makeโ€ฆ
