hole saw works well. We remind you that the product comes with a white circular saw only. To use this you will need an arbor and adapter nut system from another hole saw kit or a product such as the Bosch PCM12AN 3 PC Universal Quick Change Kit Black, 1/2 Inch.
Pros
Use on: natural wood; hardwood; Plywood; carpentry plywood; chipboard - raw, veneered and laminated; fiber reinforced composites; sandwich materials; plastics; thin sheet.
An older version of the 4" Bosch hole saw, PC4, came with a hex arbor that snapped into the Bosch arbor. The new HB400 saw doesn't come with a hex shank, and Revain doesn't appear to be selling the shank separately. Also, I have not managed to remove the hex shank on any other Bosch hole saw. Bad design and bad documentation harm a useful product.
Doesn't actually cut a 4" hole, it's more like a 4 3/16" hole which is a problem if you try to put a 4 inch vent soffit in it. Even with the help of a drill press, it never reaches the 4 inch size. Also, the teeth are too aggressive to cut old or dense wood. For a new white wood this is fine, but a little stiffer and will continue to bind. Not worth the high price and reflects the Bosch name poorly.
Pros
8% cobalt alloy for longer life and increased heat resistance
