Inexpensive drill bits

In the past I have attempted to install cabinet hardware using the measure and drill method. Most of the time things don't quite add up. With a new set of expensive cabinets I wanted to avoid this problem. This thing is good for leveling equipment. The comments about the lack of instructions are correct, but a few minutes of playing around with different elements got me where I needed to be. When I set up the jig I also used clamps to hold it securely in place while I drilled the holes. My only

The tool will not fit in cabinets larger than 30 inches

It appears to be a quality tool in terms of materials and workmanship, and it has a great design, except for one noticeable and important issue: a ruler that holds Pilot drill bits very short (less than 16") as they cannot be used with a center fence which requires two holes on a 30" (or larger) cabinet/drawer surface meaning you remove the slide fence and the pilot drill bits equidistant from the center line and then center the ruler on each part each time. A longer ruler gives significantlyโ€ฆ

Could be much better!

Before ordering, I didn't really pay attention to the size of the socket hole in the photos. I thought the holes were for the typical screws that cabinet pulls and pulls come with these days. These bushings have larger holes (just over 3/16) and as I said most knobs and knobs come with smaller screws that a 5/32 drill works great with. I figured the bushings should be able to use a drill and not have to mark the door/drawer and then drill. With larger holes, it is quite possible that whenโ€ฆ
