Landing problem but easily solved.

I had the same experience as the previous reviewer with assembly problems due to the lack of an angle on the ball joint. I then unscrewed the old bushings from the OEM struts and screwed them onto the BOXI struts. and they installed on a 2011 Highlander in 2 minutes.

Cons
  • Mostly ok, but...

they were also of great value. I don't think it needs to be replaced.

Delivered as promised and was an easy replacement. I had both elevators replaced within minutes. Considering the price, it was great value too. I don't expect to have to replace them again, but if I do in the future I won't hesitate to buy them again. Also, I had no issues with the way the contact points are angled, which resulted in an improper fit.

Price and ease of assembly

These BOXI rear window pillars will definitely fit if you take the sockets from the old OEM pillars and put them on the BOXI. (Another reviewer recommended this, and it worked like a charm.) Simply unscrew the BOXI and OEM connectors by hand or with pliers, being careful not to damage them. Replace the BOXI connectors with OEM connectors and you are ready to install. It took me less than 30 minutes to swap out the outlets and install these racks on my 2010 Toyota Highlander. The stands workโ€ฆ

Good product: shock absorbers, struts and suspension

They fit my 2010 Highlander well. However, I somehow considered removing some and installing new ones. Do not try to remove the metal clips from new or old ones. The old ones should just be unscrewed from the top and then taken off from the bottom. The new ones can simply be pushed in after aligning the top. I mixed up the pins on the new set by prying them up, so I just unscrewed the old plugs and put them in the new jacks. Made it a lot harder than it should have been. Definitely very happyโ€ฆ

Cons
  • Some small things

Simple and works when lifting legs

Installed these on my 2012 Highlander. My original struts were leaking and would not hold the rear glass sunroof when open. These are thinner than OEM. Boxi provided instructions on how to remove the old racks and install new ones. Removing the old posts was fairly easy (use a flathead screwdriver to pry out the metal clips holding the posts). I made sure to clamp one of the old posts so I didn't have to hold it with my hand when I replaced the other. The new Boxi racks were easy to installโ€ฆ

Cons
  • Some flaws

We have never used our rear glass sunroof in 10 years because 1 shock absorber stuck and blocked the sunroof to open. But I want to use this rear glass sunroof and see the BOXI supports here. Removing the old shock absorbers was very easy. Each end of the ball has a notch in the plastic that sits under a metal band that wraps around the end of the ball. Simply take the tip of the small flat head, insert it into this notch under the metal strip and turn the flat head sideways and lift it up aโ€ฆ

Cons
  • Damaged

Great price but very minor design flaw

They work, although not exactly like the genuine Toyota parts they replace. On Toyota parts, the plastic ball bushings on both ends only have a slight angle on the ends to allow for more movement. Of course, when I installed these replacements, since they don't have that small an angle, they still felt about an inch (laterally) wrong. They can be made to fit, but I'm wondering if that little extra lateral force on the bottom ball joint will cause them to fail prematurely. Either way, it's still

Cons
  • Useless features
