Compact and perfect for a small tank

Some negative reports of heater breakage. Aquarium heaters really should not be turned on unless they are submerged in the aquarium water level, especially when the aquarium is being serviced. Maybe the upscale ones have the ability to do it. In general it works well, the water temperature is stable.

It still works. to fish and aquatic animals

I kept it in a 5 gallon tank for about a month. So far it keeps my tank at 79 consistently, but it took a bit of calibration to get it right. As with any heater, don't rely on the dial to get the temperature you want. Get a real thermometer and make taking your temperature part of your daily routine. I'm giving 4 stars because the cord from the dial to the plug is ridiculously short. Luckily I don't have to adjust it often, but I would prefer a longer one. This heater is inexpensive yet…

Not bad but short power chord

Product arrived in good condition as expected. The heater was placed in a 10-gallon moving-flow container and took the temperature from 60 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit (dial set at 75) in about 2 hours. Note that the thermometer is on the opposite end of the tank. The temperature is easily adjusted with the included dial, and while no aquarium heater looks aesthetically pleasing (IMHO), this heater isn't overly bulky or ugly like the others. The biggest limitation I've noticed so far is that the…

So far, so good! in aquarium heaters

The 100w heater is too small for a 30 gallon/10g seawater tank, but I do it on purpose so that it isn't powerful enough when it gets stuck to handle the amount of water to fry there. I'm old school and still use two 150w metal halide bulbs on a 36" display so they provide most of the heat when running, but at night I need something to keep the 80 degrees going. Pros: 1. It's tiny and fits horizontally in my limited skimmer/back section of my sump. 2. I don't need to get wet to adjust it. 3. The
