I still get terrible results with eneloop rechargeable batteries. Maybe I have a bad glow puck. I really wanted them to work but I think I'll return them. The light drains the batteries in a way I've never seen before. Fresh alkaline batteries last about 3-5 hours before they start to deplete or fade. Enelupen are not afraid of something better and have a full life of about 10 hours. I use this light for about 15-30 minutes at a time. They are good for emergencies.

These lights are terrible. I have used both regular AA batteries and rechargeable batteries. I use the light above the sink while washing the dishes. The light is bright for 1-2 days use for half an hour maybe twice a day. After 5 days the light is barely on and doing nothing. It's funny how often you have to change the batteries in things.
