Fun Kitchen & Dining Starter Kit

Fun but a little pricey. If I had to do it again, I'd probably buy actual items to make enough beer to be COST. it (at least 5 gallons). But if you just want to try making beer and see how it works, this will work. Makes 8-12 bottles of beer if a beginner makes them.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • I won't say anything

WRONG LABEL! Just a cheap Belgian style ale, not seasonal.

I ordered some great flavors from the Brooklyn Brew Shop and was very happy with the flavors. BUT EACH is just a base, no fragrance is listed on the packaging. It clearly states AFTER YOU READ THE FINE SEAL THAT PEPPER IS NOT INCLUDED FOR TASTE! There are no instructions or documents. I have returned this and all other orders I have made from Brooklyn Brew Shop as a maker. These are all clickbait ads. Don't buy this.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not the best

Nice brew set

All the ingredients were good and the instructions were clear. Working with a mixture of grain and water to strain the wort is a complex task. I had a small colander that wasn't up to the task. A LARGE is needed. I've found it's easier for me to filter my brewed beer into bottles than into a siphon. Beer is ok. I've had several bottles that were "charged" with CO2 and overflowed as soon as they were opened. A quick pour into a cold glass solved the problem. The taste of the beer was excellent…

Delicious Winter Beer - Brewing a 5 Gallon Batch This Winter

A delicious and filling beer recipe for the winter months. I bought the Brooklyn Brew Shop book and will be brewing a 5 gallon batch this winter. to measure the final filling volume. (I don't expect any problems with a larger batch where I can isolate the volume needed to measure gravity and also check the volume.)

Favorite set so far

I've tried a few homemade sets at Brooklyn Brew and this one has turned out to be a favorite. The seasoning is a pleasant surprise. Paired with tacos it was amazing. Also shared with friends who gave positive feedback and enjoyed trying different food combinations. I'm not sure I would drink it alone, but it goes really well with food. Gave 4 stars for the gift option as it also requires the purchase of a larger brewing kit, but if you're buying a basic brewing gear kit it's a great idea to go…

Sweet and spicy, not exactly seasonal but worth a try

This is a delicious drink, a little spicy but not too spicy. This is a great example of a spicy pepper beer, and the seasonal base works well. The only thing I don't like about the recipe is that the beer is too sweet for my taste and it doesn't use real seasonal yeast. If I had to brew this beer again I would omit the agave syrup and go with a less sweet beer and also use seasonal yeast to get a more authentic taste. I think the jalapeno flavor would really benefit from a little less sweet, a…

Another great Brooklyn mix.

I'm new to homebrewing and love Brooklyn ingredient sets. I'm also a big fan of whole grain brews without extracts - if I wanted someone else to extract the flavors and add them to the beer I'd just buy the stuff ready brewed right? interesting result. In my home, the combination of food and beer is welcome, alongside the usual pizza and beer situation. We like to try something out. This season was very easy and as my first Belgian I was a bit disappointed with how quickly he lost his…
