Ideal for Distn Good for Athletic

Excellent lightweight running shoe. The husband runs about 100 miles a month and regularly buys shoes. He often deals with shin splints, but since running with them, he hasn't had any more problems. It has minimal drop and cushions its step well. It generally needs a wider toe box and decent cushioning around the heel. They offered both. Great shoe for long distance runs!

Looks great, ruins the heel.

Shoe looks great. I saw other reviews about the heel problem. Just a note: I run a lot. The problem with these shoes is that the plastic plate in the heel support wasn't very well thought out. This was a photo of 6 x 600m intervals with rests. It was almost 2.5 miles. I loosened my shoes properly and put on fairly thick socks. Still, my heel bled. I feel awful when people go out and buy them because they think they're going to run a marathon in them.

Extremely painful in several parts

I have a friend who is a serious runner and they swear by Brooks so I decided to try a few. These are literally the worst shoes I've ever worn. The tongue of the boot bends at the top creating painful pressure points on my feet and the heel is too high and digs into the back of my ankle and Achilles tendon. Forget walking in them, I have to take them off after walking around the store with them. Very disappointed with this expensive and uncomfortable shoe.

Too expensive to have such a serious disadvantage.

I like that they are lightweight and generally comfortable. However, as many others have noted about Brooks shoes, the Achilles tendon is not considered. The shoes fit well but with every step they press against my Achilles tendon and cause the worst blisters I have ever had. I'm not sure why this aspect of their design hasn't been addressed as hundreds of reviews around the web indicate this is a major issue. For now I'll bandage my foot with it and hope for the best.

Ready to relaunch: works

There was a version of the Launch line (prior to this one I think) that strayed from what I liked about them. They were bulky and edgy and didn't even look like Launches, simple but stylish and lightweight with just the right drop for me. They're back to what made them my favorite running shoes, although they're a bit stiffer, which wasn't an issue for me. The price for Revain was better than any running store I've gone to. I really love these shoes. Just a note, I'm a size 12 and have a…
