Great for GMRS Best accessories and supplies

I love how easy this antenna is to set up. Clipped to FRS and GMRS center frequency. configured! SWR 1.2-1.3 everywhere. Just remember to ground the mounting bracket. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Some problems

High bandwidth for radio antennas

I use this antenna for 440-450MHz HAM and also 462-467MHz GMRS with excellent results. The only problem I've noticed is a high pitched rumble at any speed over 80km/h.

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • No power

Perfect fit for GMRs

Wow. just wow. A 250 foot repeater on GMRS and I could talk 67 miles at 40 watts. Using a 5.5" NMO magnetic mount on the roof of my truck. That's a little giant.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Out of style

Excellent GMRS antenna.

Immediately after installation, without having to switch to GMRS, my SWR was 1.1. Excellent coverage on my local repeater (26 miles away) and also very good simplex coverage. Worth the money for a great little antenna.

Pros
  • That's amazing
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Great item from the radio antenna category

Initially I didn't want to buy this antenna because of its height and I was afraid it would work for GMRS radio. I have to say this was the best antenna I have ever bought. It's small but very powerful. I would buy it again.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Some cons

Great for 440/70cm and GMRS

I bought this antenna to use in my wife's car for GMRS. It's a well built antenna, not too big but gets the job done effectively. It has a strong spring which not only increases rigidity but also looks great! Browning never disappoints!

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Works as advertised.

This antenna is installed in my car. I had to trim the length to get the SWR closer to 1.00. What I like about him is that he's not that tall and people don't think I'm driving an unmarked police car. I used a TRAM 1126B which is smaller and black and is a great antenna but the Browning is definitely a more powerful antenna. I get better reception considering it's a 5/8 wave and not a 1/4 wave. I will update my review if there are any changes.

Pros
  • Sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Quality

Great antenna! c Accessories and Consumables

I originally used a BR-178-S (1/4 wave, 380MHz-520MHz) tuned to GMRS frequencies (462MHz and 467MHz). was and I was never satisfied. Although the 178 was set to 1.1 and transmitting fairly well, reception was choppy and the RX seemed to be short giving me "radio crocodile". In fact, I've found that my rubber ducky Nagoya NL-R2 performs better even though the SWR is 1.6. After replacing the coax with an LMR-240 and checking the connections it didn't fix the problem so I figured it was the cheap…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Seems to match well with GMRS

Received this antenna and mounted direct to the ground and Nano VNA kit. It was found to be well tuned for 440/450MHz. I shortened it a bit and configured it to use GMRS. I divided the difference between the input and output frequency of the repeater into 467 and 462 MHz. It covered the entire spectrum with no problems. You can see the Nano VNA shows an SWR of 1.03 at 467.600MHz. I worked on a cut out for the size of the antenna but it came out almost exactly as stated on the supplied cutting…

Pros
  • Slim design
