Unfortunately not effective enough. After soaking, rinsing, and setting all three resulting stones (each tested as a straight single outlet), barely a handful of microscopic bubbles could form. After that, other stones were tested with the same pump, and they all outperformed them by at least 10x in terms of bubble effect. Waste of money and not worth trying a refund. Just hope this saves others a few bucks to buy something that might work.

I soaked the whole thing in water for 2 hours before turning on the pump (the instructions say soak for an hour). When I turned them on, the first one worked fine. I have blisters like they should. The second time only very small bubbles came out of the stone. I tried cleaning it, taking it out and blowing air through it to clean out the innards, then reset it for another hour and it worked for a bit. Now it works at about 1/3 of what it should be. I have two Whisper 150s that each plug into one end of a small tube with five outlets with on/off buttons; Two are closed and the remaining 3 feed them (72 gallons in bow). You have to somehow align them so that the end is the top part and the part where it connects to the channel is the bottom part, otherwise the bubbles will only come out about halfway up the stone.
