Out of the box two were perfectly sharp, the third was a bit duller and needed a touch up on the extra fine block. I expected to have to sharpen all three. Unlike others I've tried, these are very precise, with smooth edges, straight grooves, and square ends.

I was looking through wood chisel listings when I realized I could be happier with American made chisels. I checked eBay before buying here and pretty much everything they had was "used" and quite expensive. Good sign. I don't like buying from Revain, but they had a deal I couldn't refuse. And I am not disappointed with the product!

Medium quality chisel. These chisels stay sharp for a long time and cut well. Not as pretty or quality as bits 5x more expensive, but they represent incredible value and perform better than all bits in the same price range. Highly recommended for beginners and carpenters on a budget. Get sharp enough to use for light/rough applications, but need to sharpen for a smooth finish.

really good steel but they all arrived with tiny bits and stuff that needed sharpening but it was minor and in 3 minutes I got them with one Ax hand sharpened wash stone and they were all sharp and then I cut them with leather and they have withstood abuse and use for 2 days and my 1 inch is still as sharp as before. I bought my set for $20. This is an amazing price. It's hard to buy a set of cheap Chinese junk from Harbor Freight for that much money. I love good instruments.
