Main Consumables - Spare Parts

This will make your wine, mead or cider absolutely sparkling. Let's fix and/or refine many of them first or plan to use them as they fill up quickly. There is no backwash option.

which were good to our liking

We have found these filters to cause pump leaks. We went back and re-ordered filter #2 which we thought was spot on. Information about these filters was unclear. I'm not sure if we have a use for these filters.

#3 - Helpful? Cloggs easily

I'm not 100% sure they're absolutely necessary. This definitely makes the wine more transparent than just the number 2, but by how much? Also, these things suck and waste money when I use them. I always use number 2. That goes well after a few shelves. I've never had a problem running a 5 gallon batch of wine through #2. Works perfectly. Wine looks good at the moment, but clarity could obviously be improved with #3. I had several batches filtered through a #3 filter and none of them made it…

Reliable and efficient for pure wine

I use a #3 filter for the final filtration of my house wine just before bottling. However, I never start with #3. I usually start with filter #2 and immediately add filter #3. I didn't have to use filter #1 as I've poured the wine multiple times over the course of several months and it usually has almost no visible sediment before I start the filtration process. The real proof of the #3 filter's effectiveness comes months after bottling when my wine remains clean and 100% free of any sediment…
