Great night vision, just wish I had the ones ordered.

I bought 4.5x and got 3x. I set up a backup and the backup was also 3x. It works great I just don't know how much I have to walk until I have 4.5. I'm thinking about just taking 6x and putting an end to it. This is most likely a problem with Bushnell's contract manufacturer and that's why they have such tight pricing on the 3x and 4.5x. In terms of performance, it's great night vision, quite grainy and shaky when zoomed in. Hopefully they get image stabilization on the z3 and the right product.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Tradeable

Good for the price in Shooting

We have no experience with night vision goggles, so an objective assessment is difficult. We first got a $900 set of ATN binoculars and we didn't like them because they were so difficult to use. This gives about the same quality of vision, albeit a much smaller image, and they're fairly easy to use. Note that we don't use them at all during the day, they were bought specifically for night vision. We have version 4.5 and I just think for the money I would give them 5 stars, overall utility at…

Tunnel vision by design?

When other reviewers mention tunnel vision they are not exaggerating. I am 61 years old. My father had Bushnell binoculars his entire life. The design was perfect and the optics were the best. So I trusted Bushnell. No longer. The Equinox Z2 monocular is a perfect example of what happens when someone blames idiots for a good name. Tunnel vision is not the result of magnification. Some idiot put the screen you're looking at at the end of a long tunnel. It looks like you're looking at a tiny…

go get one You will not be disappointed.

The scope is well built and looks solid. Bushnell didn't skimp on the quality of the parts with this scope. It is very easy to use out of the box; The controls are pretty intuitive. The two buttons on the left control power and image capture, while the "arrow keys" on the right control everything else. The USB and micro SD card connection is located above the eyepiece/battery cover. He held the lens cap with a pretty decent cable. The worst was the waiting; I had to wait for dark like a little…

Works great.: Hunting and Fishing

Purchased for night time surveillance of my property and night time wildlife viewing. There was no noticeable change in on-screen text focus with the eyepiece focus ring, but on-screen text was still fine. I was impressed by the device in the twilight until it got dark, then I realized that the IR lighting didn't work in "night" mode. With new batteries absolutely no difference was noticed between off, low or high settings. I have to assume that the IR emitter is defective on this device, so…

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Then you have to focus manually. More like a spotting scope.

I was hoping to be able to see my surroundings better with this device. For those who want to sit and watch from one place, this is the perfect choice. Not much on the way. I walk my dogs every night and was hoping to use this device to get a better look at those really dark areas. I don't always have a flashlight on, so I bought one to improve my awareness. It doesn't work well for this purpose as there isn't an easy way to use this monocular and get informed easily. That's because I can't…
