Then you have to focus manually. More like a spotting scope.

I was hoping to be able to see my surroundings better with this device. For those who want to sit and watch from one place, this is the perfect choice. Not much on the way. I walk my dogs every night and was hoping to use this device to get a better look at those really dark areas. I don't always have a flashlight on, so I bought one to improve my awareness. It doesn't work well for this purpose as there isn't an easy way to use this monocular and get informed easily. That's because I can't keep it on all the time and just bring it to my eye. The battery life is too short. That way I can turn it on when I think I can see something, my flashlight is much faster. Then you need to carefully adjust the focus for each distance. It sees very well in the dark, but you have to get up, turn it on, focus and everything becomes visible. Everyone. I liked standing in complete darkness and looking around, but this works much better when using a monopod or tripod. So my first advice is to use it as binoculars in the dark, it's great for that. I have the 4.5x version and it has a 3x digital zoom function. So we start at 4.5x and can effectively scale it up to 13.5x. If you use a tripod and the cool Equinox z2 mobile app, you can see very clearly what your monocular is looking at on your phone. Hope that helps.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • There are problems

Poor quality image, small field of view I donโ€™t know how you could ever use it to scan for coyotes
