Great little converter

Switched to a 48v system had to get this to start the fridge ignition board. Inexpensive and works great, very low parasitic drain

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Output voltage drops sharply when load is applied

Still troubleshooting. However, when a load is applied, the voltage drops sharply. The output voltage is 10.84 volts for wired connections only. When all wires are disconnected, the voltage is 12 V. The voltage across each load drops even more.

Pros
  • Free for educational use
Cons
  • Repair

Simple connection, small dimensions.

Easy connection. Compact design. The output voltage was 11 volts with no load, I would have preferred it to be 12. Used it to power a marine radio on a 48 volt system in a golf cart. Only works for 2 days, so far no problems.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some errors

ALWAYS uses power when plugged in.

Burned out in less than a month. Used it to evenly use all 48v on my golf cart. I noticed that he was warming up all the time. I think it was always on. This should probably be automatically disabled when not in use, but I don't think it is. To do this, you need a switch to stop work. Or less it will eat your battery and in my case ruin my old golf cart batteries. So now I have my headlights connected directly to just two batteries. This should make a big difference as I never use my lights.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • old
