assembly error. I bought "C2G.

Assembly error. I bought "C2G 40018 Toslink Coaxial Digital Audio Converter Black" on April 10, 2016. It says IN Coaxial -- Optical OUT. I wanted that, but it doesn't work for me from day 1. Somewhere on a blog I found that "sometimes it says 'IN Coaxial - Optical OUT' on the label, but actually it's the other way around. So I decided to open the box and found it was IN Optical. - Coaxial output. Please refer to the attached picture for reference. I just wrote "whizzotech" who sold this item. I

Perfect, right price, works like a charm

I recently cut the cable and started using only my Fire TV Stick. However, since my TV doesn't have an optical audio output and I no longer have a cable box, the sound only comes through my TV's speakers. Not being subtle, but these speakers are NOT available. My soundbar has RCA connections but no coax cable and the analog RCA options fire as well. After much research I found this little gem that allows you to connect the coaxial cable from my TV to this product and the optical cable from this

Solution for mismatched audio connections

This product is a solution for DVD/Blu-ray players with coaxial output and home theater or A/V with fiber optic input. With units turned off. Installation is simple, plug the coax cable into the DVD/Blu-ray output, connect the other end of the cable to the C2G 40018 input, then remove the protective caps on the ends of the fiber optic cable. Connect the fiber optic cable to the C2G 40018 socket (note the plug/plug orientation), then connect the other end of the fiber optic cable to your home…

The second one I bought works perfectly.

Just what you need to convert your DirectTV Wireless Box from RCA audio output to optical input. The only problem is that I plugged it in and everything worked. Shut down my system after verification. The next day I turned everything back on and it was dead and doing nothing. I tried another cable and my home theater receiver even has 2 optical ports so I tried another port and still nothing, very disappointed. I bought a second one and it arrived appearing brand new in a nicely packaged box…

It didn't work for me, maybe for you

I have an old Altec speaker from 1997. Nice sound that I connect analog. I've had about four computers since I got these speakers, but they sound too good to "upgrade". These are 4.1 speakers, a configuration that's long gone. In my current setup, the rear speakers don't work at all. Computers (and 2 of the past) don't"see" them. I was hoping to use this device and the appropriate cables to connect the S/PDIF port on the back of the speakers to an optical port on my computer. What I got was no…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not happy with everything

My Hitachi 3D 47" TV (surprisingly) doesn't have an optical digital output. Use an optical input (which I didn't have). an HDMI output. So I found that the soundbar worked with the TV's HDMI output. BUT every time I turned on the TV, the input automatically reset the soundbar to optical. Then I had to scroll to the HDMI input to get to Sound and I had to cycle the speaker to sync it to the TV. Not very convenient works to convert the digital audio of the coaxial signal (which is in my TV) to…
