I am very surprised by all the positive reviews for this product. This only works when I'm using the TV remote within 4 inches of the receiver! So basically you have to be standing directly in front of the TV and pointing the remote directly in front of the receiver for it to work. Despite this, it is very slow, so when pressing the buttons, it lags a few seconds after pressing the buttons on the remote control. I was able to use this to hide Uverse and Apple TV Box in a closet with this one device. I routed the receiver wire from the bottom of the TV where I attached it with the clear command strip. If you have a TCL 55P605 or 607 then this remote extension is a must have. As you know; The TCL remote control sensor is located directly in front of the TV. So if you place the center speaker somewhere in front of it; It blocks the sensor, which is why the remote control does not work. The only other option is to purchase the $50 RC80 remote.
