security threat. - Step ladder

This step appears to be solid and reliable. I bought it a few months ago and used it for the first time this weekend. It broke down after 24 hours of use. I weighed 230 pounds. I stepped straight (not jumped) at him from the camper and the leg just bent on itself. Luckily I didn't lose my balance. It is clear that I cannot recommend this product.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Worth a try if the price is right.

Helps a little with a big step down and feels solid, but we still weigh less than 200 pounds. The dog is afraid of it and jumps over it, making the steps even more dangerous for the dog. I thought about painting the chrome flat as visually it's a bit noticeable but easier to find and progress at night. Worth a try if the price is right - thought I'd just give it away if it didn't work and buy a more expensive foldable version to replace what we have, but an inexpensive way to try the extra step

1st failed, 2nd failed - made with CAMCO

This stage was purchased for our new camper. Immediately after birth, I stepped on it, the weld on the bracket burst, and the step collapsed. I was 173 lbs fully clothed at the doctor's 2 weeks ago so it wasn't a strain. The place where the weld had broken was covered with rust. See photo. Decided to give CAMCO the benefit of the doubt so ordered a replacement. Arrived today and I immediately opened the box to find the non slip surface was not installed as shown on the box and product…

Poor design but I managed

I knew this RV step was cheaper than some of the other best on the market. More expensive models have individually adjustable legs. I didn't need them as I wanted to use them very flat. I was very disappointed to find that the non-slip surface was installed on the part of the step that does NOT make contact with your foot, so basically useless. The silver parts of the steps between the non-slip strips are HIGHER than the non-slip surface. I was able to add more non-slip strips that I bought…

Makes it easier to get in and out of our RV

When our RV is on a hill, sometimes the door and steps are much higher than we would like. It's either a level camper or steps close enough to the ground for easy entry. This RV step makes it easier to enter the RV when the steps are higher than we would like. It folds up, is light enough to be easily stowed away, but strong enough to feel secure when stepping on it. I would give it 5 stars apart from the concern that the step will roll away from the camper if used on a hill. Folding legs are…

Finally a step at a good price

We've added a level up feature to our fifth wheel which means the steps are sometimes too high off the ground. We looked around for a move but found that they were up almost $100. This step is part of this prize. We were afraid that this step might turn out to be "cheap", especially since we couldn't feel it beforehand when buying online. But we were pleased to find that this is a good quality stepping stone. PROS: - Sturdy (we've had people up to 300lbs on it) - Folds flat (easy to store)…

Good but limited by design.

I love this stool and use it for my caravan. I use it when I need an extra step due to alignment. It is developing beautifully and has taken the burden off me and my family so far. I'm on the heavier side so wasn't sure how well that would work with this design but it claims to fit 250 which is me or maybe a few pounds more on any given day. I've also successfully pulled gear in and out of the camper with this move. The only problem I couldn't solve with this step is that you can't adjust the…
