Big Difference

I am restoring a 1953 International R110 pickup. The original battery compartment is still there so I used wire to hold the battery in place. It worked but spoiled the finished look of the engine compartment. For just a few dollars and a few minutes, he added tons of finishes to my project.

Much better than using bungee cords!

I have not used the tray, only the bars and top clamp. This product was just as cheap with a tray as other products that just had different parts so I figured why not. It barely fits in my truck battery but I think my battery is just over 24 class. I couldn't use both of the nuts that came with it because one bolt is lower than the other on my truck (see picture). No problem, just used a spare nut I had. Better than the old rubber cords!

Be sure to check the size!

I bought this to use for the battery system in my solar trailer. This is a standard 12v battery although the clamps work fine. My battery is slightly higher and solid screws cannot be used. I ended up buying another set of clamps and getting him to work on this plastic tray. So keep in mind that you cannot use these clips if your batteries are a bit longer. They are a bit short and I ended up having to buy 10 1/2" clips.

So far so good: Parts

Bought for someone's 2007 Accord that had a weaker 51R 4 cylinder to ship a new 24F for $54.00. 24F fitted my 2007 CRV much more closely. A stainless steel shaft is also appreciated. The cross piece seems solid enough and fits snugly in the battery size we bought. Remember to check your battery connections before winter. Mine got rusty after a few seasons and the battery didn't charge properly in the winter. I actually ordered a starter that I don't need because of the symptoms.

  • Pretty impressive

Civic 2102 Battery Upgrade from 51r to 24f

This helped install a 24f battery on my 2012 Honda Civic. I had to remove the old tray and lid and hammer in the metal tabs to make them flush. Fits tight but works. The 51r just doesn't have enough reserve power to drive the Civic the way Honda designed its charging system. I always thought it had a parasitic drain, but after doing some research the car doesn't always keep the battery at full capacity to save fuel. You end up destroying battery health and being stranded too many times…

Pros
  • Best in the Niche
Cons
  • Disappear

I have a 9th generation Honda Accord (I have 2014, 4 cylinder Sport) that has a lousy stock battery 51R with very little reserve comes. I've used this to install a much better 35 series battery with very little effort. Basically I used the original rod and nut in the back (closer to the rider) and the new rod in the front. Great, now I have a much better battery and will buy another if I do the same for my 2016 Accord Sport. I liked the 2014 Accord Sport with the 6 speed shifter so much that I…

Good quality but needs modification to work

The parts in this set are certainly well made but as others have said you will need to modify them to make them work on your car . I needed a kit for a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. The plastic tray didn't fit so I couldn't use it. The hold down bars are long as I said so be sure to leave a gap before closing the hood so you don't push them in and poke a hole. However, the bars are heavy, so I was able to cut the bars with a hacksaw and bend them in a hook vise. That way I didn't damage the threads…

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
