I've never found setting up an operating system easier than .

Operating system setup has never been easier than with Raspberry Pi and Retropie 4.0. Canakit works fine, just use one of the heatsinks at the indicated location on the board and assemble the case. No special tools are required. In fact, there's nothing special about it. I downloaded the image for Retropie to the included 32GB micro SD card using a USB dongle, plugged it into the Pi, connected HDMI to my monitor, plugged in the power adapter along with a $10 USB keyboard . , and the system…

The simplest computer build and setup I've ever done.

The system is very easy to set up and operate. The parts were individually packed in an outer carton to protect them from damage in transit. Many of the parts were marked with obvious warning stickers that dealt directly with a simple mistake that could set you back, which comes in very handy if you're new to all of this. The package includes software installed on a small memory card so you can get started without internet, but once you're on the "Choose what operating system you want to…

New to Raspberry Pi? Start here with a really solid kit!

I think this complete set would definitely be good for new Pi users. Yes, you could probably save a few bucks by assembling it yourself, but it works, and it works pretty well. There have been some complaints about the case and the difficulties involved. They give you a link to a video on how to assemble the case. Looks! The case is actually in 3 parts and the Pi itself is on the bottom while the rest of the parts are added on top. Do not insert the SD card until it is in the case. The same…

The absolute best kit for Raspberry Pi! I love it!

For those new to Raspberry Pi or Linux, this is the best way. Having worked in IT for 21 years in a Windows environment, I wanted to learn Linux and was fascinated by the Raspberry Pi's GPIO interface. As an electronics hobbyist, many years ago I wanted to learn how to interact with external components and systems. I absolutely fell in love with both my Raspberry Pi and Linux. I also used my Raspberry Pi to learn Python. Using this Pi and a 6TB external hard drive, I set up an FTP server as a…

This kit is great and the Raspburry Pi 3 B+ board is .

This kit is great and the Raspburry Pi 3 B+ board is AMAZING! It's just okay, but you don't need it. I hooked up my keyboard, mouse, storage (running a noob OS) and monitor to the bareboard and ran the OS install: I just had to set the local scope in the configuration menu for the Pi to see my WiFi. This board with Raspberry operating system is fast! I am writing this review and am currently browsing with Chrome enabled. This operating system is great for learning about computers. It comes with

Outstanding and affordable training!

I built a desktop PC about 3 years ago; It was pretty easy and I installed Linux. This was my first singleboard experience. When driving slowly, everything works as described. The instructions (and video with explanation) must have been made by someone who has assembled and disassembled one of these hundreds of times as it looks very, very easy and it really is once you know the tricks! Just go slow and don't force anything and you'll be fine. I am writing this on my RPi using the Chromium web…

Get ready with keyboard, mouse and monitor

Great set but get ready with keyboard, mouse and monitor! To at least get started, grab a TV that you can connect with the included HDMI cable and USB keyboard. I had a keyboard and mouse that I could connect, but I bought a small 7 inch monitor as all the TVs we have are huge flat screens and my only computer monitor is a VGA monitor. After setting it up, I was able to use my keyboard and mouse in Bluetooth mode. Setup was very easy and worked exactly as described in the quick start guide. I…

CanaKit cares about its customers!

I bought the 3 B+ starter kit from CanaKit. I couldn't start my Raspberry Pi, it just showed me a red LED. I tried many, many things and then got desperate and emailed CanaKit. On Saturday I sent an email outlining my situation and the steps I had taken. Mike at CanaKit replied to me in less than 15 minutes and CanaKit shipped me a new 3B+ board within 3 hours. Saturday no less! I just received my new board and it immediately caught fire. Dropouts happen, but aftercare is important and I'm very

Good kit in bad case

This is a simple starter kit for Raspberry Pi 3 B+ . Basically everything is good, but I found a few flaws. The good first: The set is neatly packaged and contains everything that is described in the product description. Powering on the Pi with a microSD card installed will cause the Pi to boot to the NOOBS prompt (unless you format the card). The power adapter, the card and the card reader worked without any noticeable problems. Neutral: This kit includes two coolers. One for the CPU and one…

Pros
  • 32GB Samsung EVO+ Micro SD memory card (Class 10) with preinstalled NOOBS card, USB MicroSD card reader
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
