Receive an open position. Not new

The packaging was ok for this part but the pen it comes in has had its packaging opened and the part does not look new. Disappointed to have received a used item when buying new

Better than the one that came with my fork.

Improved version of what came with my fork. Both are aluminum but this one has a dust seal. Very important, as the original did not do this and dirt on the lower steering column bearing led to failure. This design should help as it keeps dirt out thanks to the lip seal. Just as light as the original. You will need a special installation tool to install it properly as it is a press fit design.

Used with old Creek S3 Reed

30mm bore is for 1 1/8" steerer tube. Used with vintage Cane Creek S3 steering column. No vendor lists any crown races available for S3 but this is the only one. Genuine Cane Creek product, ready to ship immediately. Order to install it you don't have to go to the store or buy an expensive park tool. Go to a hardware store and buy 1 1/4" ID (at least 2 feet) PVC pipe. I bought a 5 foot -Length for about $3.50 The 1 1/4" fits over the 1 1/8" steerer and fits perfectly with the clevis. Use a soft

Also used with an old S-3

Seems to fit and work perfectly with my S-3. Cane Creek may or may not agree, but they don't say so, and the only viable alternative seems to be the 40 Series Crown Race (which is probably the same in steel rather than alloy (don't want to)). I do not recommend reusing the old Crown Race S-3; The rubber seals will be damaged when removing the crown. Since the rubber seal needs to slide/rub against the bearing outer race, I recommend lubricating it with something like Buzzy's Slick Honey. A…
